Installing the Framework: VeriFone Nurit

This guide will walk you through the steps to install WALK Framework on VeriFone Verix terminals. Be aware of prerequisites and follow the installation process carefully.
Prerequisites
Microsoft Windows XP: Service Pack 2 or 3
Installation package of WALK Framework: Download it here
NURIT Software Development Tools: Download it here
NURIT OSP Loader: Download it here
Connector for Nurit 8320 e 8400: If you are using a Nurit 8000, 8010 or 8020 terminal, you will need a different cable that can be purchased from your authorized dealer
Serial Port: Available and configured as COM1 (check item 7 if the computer has no serial port)
Adapter: If your computer does not have a COM1 port, you have to purchase a special adapter (USB) from your authorized dealer. To use the adapter, check out this tutorial

Installation: Step by step
1. Installing the NURIT tools
Unzip the package setup_sdt_071100.zip in a directory of your choice, and then run the installation file. The process is simple, leave the default options selected.
Do the same for the package setup_osploader_071200.zip, and again leave the default options selected.
When you finish the installation, files with extensions APP, DML and OSP will be associated with the program NURIT Loader.
2. Configuring the Loader
2.1. Unzip the package walk_2.33_nurit.zip in a directory of your choice, and then double click the file LIPSSL_034201_A.DLM.
The NURIT Loader will be started:
2.2. In NURIT Loader, click the Settings menu and select the Port Settings. The port configuration screen should appear:

2.3. Then click on the first option (Add communication port), select COM1 and click OK:

2.4. After adding the port, click the second option (Communication port properties) and uncheck the modem, select speed 115200 and click OK:

2.5. Click the Close button on screen PC Ports Definition:

2.6. With the port properly configured, the NURIT Loader can be closed. Click the File menu and select Close.
Rerun the file LIPSSL_034201_A.DLM to open the NURIT Loader:
3. Accessing the NOS menu
3.1. Connect the cable on the serial port COM1 of the computer and the terminal.
Nurit 8320
The download cable must be plugged into the RS-232 port:
Nurit 8000, 8010 e 8020
The download cable is a special cable that has a specific connector and should be plugged into the middle connector:
Nurit 8400
The download cable should be fit next to the power connector, the second gray connector from left to right:
3.2. Connect the POS to the power connector and plug the power cable. For models 8000, 8010 and 8020 it is necessary to press and hold the button (ON / OFF).
3.3. After connecting the terminal you need to put in a a key combination to enter the application loading menu.
A combination Shell to Nos will be used for each terminal model:
Nurit 8320
By accessing the Shell to Nos, the following screen should appear:
1.Run App1
2.Download >
3.PROG Info >
4.Restart App1

Nurit 8000, 8010 e 8020
By accessing the Shell to Nos, the following screen should appear:

By accessing the Shell to Nos, the following screen should appear:

4. Checking the OS version
With the NOS Menu on the terminal, press 7 or position the cursor on option 7 (NOS Info) and press Enter.
The version needs to be 07.49 or higher.

5. Download of the SSL library
Assuming that your POS run 07.49 or higher, press Cancel (red button) to return to the previous menu. Then choose option 2 (download).

On the next screen, choose option 1 (By Terminal ID):

On the next screen, press 1:

On the next screen, choose option 2 Comm Prm) to configure the serial port of the terminal:

On the next screen, press Enter (green button) and choose option 3 Via > Com1
1.Phone >
2.Prefix >
3.Via > Com1
4.Baud > 115200
After configuring the serial port parameters, press Cancel (red button) to return to the previous screen, then choose option 6 (Manual load):

7.Mode > SINGLE
On the next screen, press Enter (green button):
ENTER-Y . ESC-N
On the next screen, choose 1 (Load App1):
1.Load App1
2.Load Blocks
3.Load TSP
4.Remove App1 >
Then the POS will indicate that it is awaiting submission of the application or library:
Starting DCP...
At this point, the transfer of the SSL library will have begun, as can be seen in NURIT Loader:
The screen of the POS shows the following:

When the download finishes, the following screen will be displayed:

After notifying that the download was completed, the POS should return to the loading screen:
1.Load App1
2.Load Blocks
3.Load TSP
4.Remove App1 >
6. Download the WALK Framework
Close NURIT Loader (click on the File menu and select Close). In the directory with the files from WALK Framework now run the file WALK_xxxx_A.APP and NURIT Loader will be loaded again.
Press Enter (green button) on the POS to start the download process again:
Starting DCP...
At this point, the transfer of the Framework WALK begun. On the screen of POS will be observing the following information:

When the download finishes, the following screen will be displayed:
completed...
After notifying that the download was completed, the POS should return to the loading screen:
1.Load App1
2.Load Blocks
3.Load TSP
4.Remove App1 >
Press Cancel (red button) two times to restart the terminal and go back to the first screen.
Then select option 1 (Run App1), and the following screen will appear, showing that the memory of the terminal was cleared and the WALK Framework was successfully installed:
7. Installing the initial application
Follow this tutorial to finish the installation of the initial application on the WALK Framework, so that you can include the license of the Framework WALK to the terminal.
