Installing the Framework: Ingenico Telium 1

This guide will walk you through the process to install WALK Framework on the Sagem EFT930s and EFT930g POS terminals models

This guide will walk you through the process to install WALK Framework on the Ingenico Telium 1 POS terminals models: EFT930s and EFT930g. Be aware of prerequisites and follow the installation process carefully.

Prerequisites

  1. Microsoft Windows XP: Service Pack 2 or 3

  2. Operating System on the POS has to be version 6.4.2 or higher: If your OS runs an earlier version, contact your supplier. Not sure about the version? Click here

  3. Installation package of WALK Framework: Download the T58 version here and the U44 version here. Not sure about the version? Click here

  4. USB flash drive: Preferably formatted

  5. USB connection cable to Female/Mini A: Needed to copy files from the flash drive to the terminal

Installation: Step by step

1. Identifying the version of your operating system

Restart the terminal (press the YELLOW and DOT buttons simultaneously).

If your supplier is TefTi, your terminal will show T58 E931G.

When the displays the message T58 E931G or U44 E931G, quickly press the F2 button. The following menu is displayed:

Press F1 to print information on the terminal. Note that it is necessary that the terminal has a paper bobbin installed.

On the ticket, look for the information System Pack and Telium Pack, which for the OS 6.4.2 version should be:

System Pack

Version: 08
Patch  : 13

Telium Pack

Version: 53
Patch  : 02

If your terminal has a System or Telium Pack lower than the ones described above, see your supplier. (Newer versions usually work)

2. Clearing the terminal

Access the menu of the OS (reboot and press F2 when the message T58 E931G or U44 E931G appears) and select the Delete menu option:

Then select the Delete application option:

The next screen will display some programs installed on the terminal, where M2OS refers to the Telium Manager (which doesn’t have to be excluded). Any other file that is listed should be deleted, select the file to be deleted and pressing the GREEN button.

Do NOT do NOT delete anything from the Delete library menu or the file M2OS, doing so might damage the terminal.

3. Uploading the load to the flash drive

To load WALK Framework onto the USB flash drive, do the following:

  1. Plug the flash drive into the computer and format it

  2. After formatting the flash drive, access it and create a directory called TELIUM (all caps), and within that directory create a new one calling WALK (also in all capital letters)

  3. Put all files from the installation package of WALK Framework (previously downloaded), except for the file historico.txt into the WALK directory.

4. Installing the Framework

You will need to use the USB cable Female /Mini A (white). Below is an illustration:

Most Mini USB cables are type B, but this requires type A

Plug the USB cable Female /Mini A into the WHITE (slave) port of the POS terminal and connect the other end to the flash drive, as can be seen below:

Then do the following:

  1. Restart the terminal and hold the F4 button. The terminal will display the message USB MASS STORAGE

  2. Wait a few seconds (depending on size and number of files on your USB stick), the terminal will show the WALK directory on it’s display.

  3. Then select the WALK directory by pushing the GREEN button.

  4. Wait for the loading process to finish, which will restart the terminal, this should display the message WAITING DOWNLOAD…

5. Installing the initial application

Follow this tutorial to finish the installation of the initial application on the WALK Framework, so that you can include the license of the Framework WALK to the terminal.
